“I’ll Present Myself To Any Native Doctor Who Can Make One Rich” – Governor Soludo Warns Against Ritual Scam

The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has issued a bold and critical message against the rising wave of deceitful native doctors who claim to possess powers to make people rich overnight. The governor addressed the growing concern of ritual-based fraud and drug trafficking traps misleading Anambra youth.

If you see anyone who claims he can make people rich, tell us. We will arrest him and bring him to Awka. If he can make just one person a millionaire, we will line up Anambra people. Don’t you want an Anambra where everyone is a millionaire? I will even present myself — because I need money too!” Soludo said during a public engagement.

Fake Charms and Deadly Consequences

Governor Soludo cited disturbing examples, such as the case of 23 Anambra indigenes currently on death row in Indonesia due to drug-related offenses. Many of them were allegedly deceived by native doctors who claimed to have spiritual charms that would blind airport scanners to illicit drugs.

These native doctors will deceive young people, telling them that they have powers to protect them from being caught when carrying drugs. But the reality is different. These young people are languishing in jails across the world today.

From Content Creators to Criminal Influence

Soludo revealed that one of the detained native doctors claimed to be merely a “content creator,” yet has played a part in misleading youth to believe that wealth can be achieved through charms and rituals like “Oke Ite” (money rituals).

One of them has a son who works as a waiter in a hotel in Nnewi. If money rituals truly worked, why didn’t he make his son a millionaire?” Soludo questioned.

He emphasized that the issue is not with traditional religion or ancestral beliefs but rather with the rise of manipulative and criminal native doctors who exploit vulnerable youths for profit and fame.

A Call to Consciousness

Governor Soludo called on parents, communities, and traditional institutions to help curb the influence of these harmful practices. He noted that in the past, true traditional worshipers were known for their honesty and fear of the gods, unlike the present trend of deceitful charm vendors posing as spiritual leaders.

We are not against traditional worshipers. The traditionalists we knew in the past were among the most upright people. But these new criminal elements are spreading lies and destroying lives. We won’t allow this to continue.

Governor Soludo's Stand

With his strong stance, Governor Soludo has drawn a clear line between legitimate cultural practices and the growing trend of fraudulent, dangerous ritual schemes. His administration pledges to continue cracking down on false prophets, ritual scammers, and anyone deceiving young people into destruction.
